Accra Disaster

It has happened again
Accra is in tears
Though no one laid on her a cane
Yet she is in tears

For the fear of a man had risen
In the midst of a heavy flood
Where his beloved goes missing
He goes searching on the streets
And to his eyes, it’s blood that it sees
Then his fear came to light!
“A performance of a burial rite?"
In a daze he questioned.

This truthful tale got me bewildered
And I wondered for long how his senses
could tell a right from wrong

I wondered how I could carry him along
And sing to him a soft soothing song

I wondered for long how he can be delivered and made strong
I wondered
till my thoughts came alive
That I hid him in prayer like my only treasure all year long

(My heart and prayers goes to the  families who lost their loved ones to the Accra floods and fire on Wednesday June 3, 2015)
Say a prayer for them!!!

Great and Mighty God

Oh! Great God that you are
Many are the men that praise you from near and far
The ancient of days, as old as you are
Our debts you have always paid, as many as there are

Oh! great and mighty God
It is you alone we laud
We sing unto you a high affection praise
And your name on our lips, that we cannot erase

Oh! great and mighty God
In your time we receive the nod
It is your time, we deem the best
And your word we uphold in our chest

Oh! great and Mighty God
Amidst all our flaws
And  failing to make your word the light of our path
You neither keep us unsafe nor wage on us your wrath

Oh! great and mighty God
It is your works that we greatly applaud
For its the good news we tell
And your unfailing care as well

Come and dwell in our hearts
Oh! great and mighty God
So that hell will be far from us

Amen!

Exquisite

My heart leaps up when i see you
I stare, hoping to see a flaw in you
And as i look into your eye
I see the halt of my cry
Your make is made perfect like a wedding cake
That heals my chronic stomach ache
And when i hear your voice,  i rejoice
Because i made a perfect choice

REJOINDER

Girls On Fire
Now as I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man who's not a creep.
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
Who's not afraid to admit when he is wrong

One who thinks before he speaks.
When he promises to call, he doesn't wait two weeks.
I pray that he is gainfully employed,
Won't lose his cool when he's annoyed.

Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.

Oh send me a man who will make love to my mind.
Know what to say when I ask "How fat is my behind?"

One who'll make love till my body's twitching
He brings ME a sandwich too, when he goes to the kitchen.

I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And never compare me to my best friend.

Thank you in advance and now I'll just wait,
For I know you will send him before it's too late.

So as I kneel tonight and pray by my bed,
I look at this shithead you sent me instead
Amen

Boys On Fire
Now as I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a woman who's not cheap
One who's pretty, smart and young.
Who's not afraid to admit when its a slip of the tongue

One who thinks before she speaks.
When she promises to care, she doesn't wait till I'm weak.
I pray that she rarely gets  annoyed,
Won't lose her cool when she's unemployed.

Pulls out my chair and serves my table,
Massages my back and begs for my cradle.

Oh send me a woman who's love making will send shivers down my spine
Know what to say when I ask "How huge is my front line?"

One who'll make love till my mind's boggling
She brings ME a classic food, when she goes shopping.

I pray that this woman will love me to no end,
And never compare me to my plush friend.
Thank you in advance and now I'll just wait,
For I know you will send her before it's too late.
So as I kneel tonight and pray by my bed,

I look at this long-haired you sent me till the end

Amen

DESIST THE DETEST

DESIST THE DETEST

At the mention of my name
They say that am less of fame
Just because my name and their name does not sound the same

But they know not that fame is not my aim
In this  world  that was, before I came

For they speak against me
And they despise me
Citing my deeds are a threat
And my thoughts are fresh

The jokes that they share, very stereotype
For they know not that it errs, an antitype

Resulting in a cold war
That divides and wipes
 Men that i speak for

They feed the unborn child
With Words from their fathered
Just to uphold  detest on my adorn child
Yet i seem not  bothered

But i am now, and  so do I, avow
That its against humanity
For this horror of hate to be allowed
In this world  of vanity

The Emperor

The Emperor
I made a journey to a town
Far away from Rhodesia
Where the minds of men were endowed
And the show  of crown in a viva
In this town i met a man
Whose words were the mark
Yet on his men he made no ban
And his entourage was twice an arc
I shook hands with him
And i felt a vast sensation
But my urge did not dim
Amidst his  sweet oration
From his mouth came a breath of air
Stuffed with words from the days of old
Words that did not scare
But to make my own
Equality he made his aim
Yet the Provencal proved as a  defamer
Only to assume his name
But he  was more than a speech maker
In his endeavor, was his master plan
And in valor, was a mortal man
And by virtue of his clan, was he made the emperor

Ephemeral

Ephemeral
I look up
To the radiant beam from the sun
That shines all way
And leads my path all day

I look up
To the milky way
That glows in an array
And the picturesque it displays

I look up
To the Holy book
That blooms and boosts the truth
For the youth to be hooked

But when I look down
My eyes bulge
My psyche convolute
And all things fall apart

This is not
The good old man’s tale
But it recounts my succinct bit
To the lot

So Look up! my dear
And make a vow
To a lighted near
For the agony of now
Is Ephemeral
