When
I Die: My Do’s, Your Don’ts
It feels good to be alive
And it feels sad when the inevitable comes alive
A day will appear
Where you and I will disappear
When I disappear, it means I’m dead.
When I die, don’t put me in a casket not even in a basket
When I die, don’t cry, don’t make sounds,
Agyei ! Agyei! Leave them out!
When I die, don’t bring your bundles to come display
your bungles
When I die,
don’t cruise me in your band wagon,
But keep in mind that I’m forever gone.
When I die, envelop me in my cloak for God’s
Children
When I die, just let me be, ‘cos I’m no more a
being.
When I die, don’t bury me, just cremate me.
Dedicated to the late Prof. kofi Awoonor
